Enterprise Cloud Storage

For those of you who work in the corporate world, enterprise cloud storage is a major topic these days. When Samsung became a powerhouse in the smartphone market, and Apple rose to fame with the iPhone in 2007, most companies were not thinking about cloud storage. It is true that the concept of cloud storage existed long before a few years ago, but it was not that big of a deal; companies still relied upon local storage and saving files to floppy disks, USB sticks, and the like.

Today, cloud storage is all you hear and read about. It seems that the concept has been well-received, in both America and around the world. The idea that I can log in and save my files to an account that I can access on any machine (PC, laptop, smartphone, tablet) anywhere in the world is simply too good of an idea to pass up.

As a result of corporate America’s demand for cloud storage and the ability to retrieve files should something happen to local machine storage, companies like Samsung and Apple have had to respond by including enterprise-level cloud storage encryption into their respective operating systems (Android and iOS). Now, it is not enough to offer a small cloud storage system for consumers; cloud storage requires more for the business professional than the average smartphone or tablet user.

Google has recently added enterprise level cloud storage encryption to its Google Cloud Storage service. Samsung offers its KNOX feature and Apple offers “iCloud Keychain” for both average consumers and business professionals, but there are other cloud storage companies interested in storing and protecting your data.
